Treatment

I am hoping to create a short film called "INSERT TITLE HERE". This will consist of four characters. Rob (the main character), is a bailing out college student who is becoming more ungrateful and depressed each day. He has enough after an unneeded argument with his brother which causes him to leave home for a few days. Rob plans to stay at his friends house but finds out he can't stay anywhere and going home isn't an option, therefore he has to stay in the streets. He only has his current clothes and his skateboard. His friends try and cheer him up by skating around with him trying to make him happy. Once his friends realise he needs to go home they try and talk to him to get him home, unfortunately they don't persuade him and he skates off into the distance, *fade to black*.

"INSERT FILM NAME HERE" will be aimed towards teenagers aged between 15-25, this is because the message "be grateful for what you have and make the most of things, don't sit inside doing nothing, make your life an interesting story" should show the audience that you need to appreciate things in life otherwise you can loose family and friends, and i think family and friends are the most important things in life.

Outline Script:

Outline Budget: I will need a Canon 600d, a tripod and a external microphone. This will all be supplied by the college at a cost of £0

The film crew won't be using public transport, food will be supplied by the actors, this will come to a total cost of; £0

Talent:

Rob: Actor (as himself)
Kane:Actor (as himself)
Jack:Actor (as himself)
Josh: Actor (as himself)
Myself: I will be doing everything apart from acting (Directing, producing, editing, planning, pre-production).

Contingency plan:

  • If one of my actors isn't able to make it then i am more than willing to replace them along as the camera is locked. If it isn't then i will find someone to act for me.
  • I will check the weather to find the days that aren't raining.

TITLE

Dear South Essex College,

I plan on making a film for people aged between 15-25. The general idea for this film is to send a message to the audience making them think about the film. The message is to "be grateful for what you have and make the most of things, don't sit inside doing nothing, make your life an interesting story."

Characters;

  • Rob - main character
  • Jack - Robs brother
  • Josh - Robs friend
  • Kane - Robs friend

The concept of the story is about a young teenage bailing out of college who becomes depressed and ungrateful for what he has, he leaves home to have some time alone to realise he has no where to go. None of his friends can take him in for a few days and he can't face going home so he becomes homeless with some clothes and his skateboard.

I would appreciate funding for my short film, this would consist of;

  • One canon 600D
  • One external microphone
  •  One tripod

10 minute drama proposal

INSERT TITLE HERE

Rob: depressed, lonely, searching for company and friends.

A unhappy teenager begins to be a lot more adventuress again with his friends after having family problems.

Rob begins to start doing activities with his friends, the main one is skateboarding

Throughout the film, he begins to become happier and happier.

I want to have voice overs throughout the film to show his happiness and thoughts as well as the visuals

My first shot will be in slow motion of a skateboarder pushing away. the title will appear on screen and then fade to black with the title in shot.

Diary entry - (evaluation of each day)

Today was our first lesson with Pat since the Easter holiday. He introduced that we was going to be filming a 10 minute short film before we broke up for the holiday. We've had all of this time to think of ideas yet i still haven't got one. After discussing my idea's with Rosie and Ollie i found out that Rosie had ideas about how she was going to film it. She explained how she wanted to have a voiceover over moving image. I assumed it would be quite emotional.

After talking some people i still couldn't think of an idea, i want to make something that i would want to watch. When i watch somethings to do with skateboarding i normal want to film something like that.

What formats does this fit into?

What is the narrative structure?
